Eyes on the Prize - Jacob Greifer

Eyes on the Prize overall was a very moving documentary that highlighted the African American struggle for civil rights and the ugliness in our country's history. The part that stood out to me the most was the trial of Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam. It was very saddening and angering to see how unjust the decision of the court was by ruling them innocent. In my opinion, it was easy to know that they had murdered Emmett Till, but it seemed even easier for the court to rule that they hadn't, simply because of race. This illustrated the raging racism in the south, and how far people would go to keep the system intact.
